Empowering women fuels thriving economies, spurring productivity and growth. Despite this knowledge, gender inequalities remain deeply entrenched in many sectors. Aviation is a forward-looking industry and as it continues to grow, so does the number of qualified men and women required to successfully manage the air transport system. It is now more important than ever to advocate for gender equality, particularly in highly-specialized industries where women continue to be under-represented. Did you know? The South African Civil Aviation Authority is hosting the first ever Global Aviation Gender Summit. The Summit will be co-organized by ICAO, in collaboration with UNESCO. It aims to advocate and advance gender equality and empowerment of women in the global aviation sector, and will identify concrete actions that can be taken to accelerate these issues.
