![]() IAWA Q3 Letter from the President Our Annual Conference in Lima, Peru, is just around the corner, and I want to give you a preview of what promises to be another unforgettable event. The Conference Planning Committee has been working very hard and has prepared a program that includes some of the most innovative developments in aviation and aerospace. We will explore the challenges facing the expansion of aviation infrastructure; the growth of cargo worldwide; additive manufacturing as a game-changer in aerospace; urban air mobility; recent developments in aircraft leasing; and the human factor in aviation risk management. Noise and emissions restrictions seem to increasingly limit industry growth. Lina Londono, 2019 Vaughn College Scholarship Recipient ![]() Lina Londono is currently in her second year of her master’s degree in Airport Management at Vaughn College of Aeronautics & Technology. Her passion for aviation started when she was a child, which led her to pursue her Bachelor of Science in Aeronautical Engineering at San Buenaventura University in Colombia. While pursuing her Bachelor’s, she had the opportunity to intern with a Principal Maintenance Inspector (PMI) at the Civil Aviation Authority of Colombia. In the Summer of 2019, Lina joined the Port Authority of New York & New Jersey as a summer intern at LaGuardia airport in the General Manager’s Office.
Her passion for aviation is focused on operational aspects and her goal is eventually to work as an operations manager at an airport.
