#IAWALima Panel Announcement

GLOBAL INFRASTRUCTURE CHALLENGES
THURSDAY, OCTOBER 17, 2019 - 9:30AM - 10:30AM

Moderator
Marita Lintener, Managing Director, European Aviation Consultancy

In many regions worldwide it is hardly possible to expand aviation infrastructure, be it building new airports, additional runways or terminal infrastructure at existing airports. Noise and emissions restrictions seem to increasingly limit industry growth. This panel will discuss challenges to aviation infrastructure globally, with special focus on issues facing Latin America, including the impact of global climate discussions, the needs of future aviation infrastructure, the effect of regional variations and the rise of new technologies.

Lina Londono is currently in her second year of her master’s degree in Airport Management at Vaughn College of Aeronautics & Technology. Her passion for aviation started when she was a child, which led her to pursue her Bachelor of Science in Aeronautical Engineering at San Buenaventura University in Colombia. While pursuing her Bachelor’s, she had the opportunity to intern with a Principal Maintenance Inspector (PMI) at the Civil Aviation Authority of Colombia. In the Summer of 2019, Lina joined the Port Authority of New York & New Jersey as a summer intern at LaGuardia airport in the General Manager’s Office.

Lina is very grateful to Vaughn College for all the opportunities it provides for a strong education in the aviation field, as well as professional growth and networking.

Her passion for aviation is focused on operational aspects and her goal is eventually to work as an operations manager at an airport.
