MOUNT ROYAL, NJ - January 5, 2021 - The International Aviation Womens Association (IAWA), a global network committed to connecting, inspiring and leading women in the aviation industry, welcomes the addition of Cristiane Dart as its newest member to the IAWA Board of Directors. Cristiane has accepted the position to serve as the Vice President of Marketing & Communications, in which she'll lead the Marketing and Communications team in promoting and supporting its numerous activities and programs. Cristiane Dart is SITA's Senior Marketing Manager, Americas based in Rio de Janeiro. In her SITA role, she develops and executes SITA's marketing strategy in a culturally diverse region driving complex and tailored customer focused initiatives. She holds vast experience in press relations, social media, advertising, marketing intelligence, event and brand management. Cristiane has been contributing to the air transport industry for 20 years. Prior to joining SITA, Cristiane worked for the oil and gas sector, at ExxonMobil and Texaco.

Her experience and knowledge will be invaluable to IAWA's growing list of activities and endeavors," exclaimed Bobbi Wells, President of IAWA. "Cristiane has been extremely enthusiastic and supportive as the Marketing and Production Committee Chair. She is a natural fit for her new leadership role."
Cristiane is also a member of the Airports Council International (ACI) Communications & Marketing Committee in Latin America & Caribbean regional office helping with the organization's communications and conference plans and is a member of SITA's Diversity & Inclusion Committee. A Brazilian national fluent in English, Spanish and French, Cristiane holds a bachelor's degree in Social Communications from the Rio de Janeiro Federal University (UFRJ), an MBA from Ibmec Business School and post-graduate work in French Translation from the Fluminense Federal University (UFF).
In addition to Cristiane Dart, the IAWA Board is pleased to announce Andi Sims has accepted her new board role as the Vice President of Annual Conference and Kathy Guilfoyle has accepted her new board role as the Vice President of the Americas. Lastly, the IAWA Board would like to acknowledge and thank Debra Santos for her vital contributions to IAWA and her leadership on the IAWA Board. Debra's passion, dedication and vision provided significant contributions to IAWA's global membership. Debra will be exiting from her board position as the Vice President of the Americas. Debra is also celebrating her retirement from Boeing last fall, after serving Boeing for more than 36 years.
Debra joined Boeing as an engineer and held several key positions in Boeing, notably the Director of BCA Competitive Strategy and the first Brand Manager for the Boeing Commercial Airplanes 777 Program. In May 2017, Debra Santos became the Chief Marketing Officer for Boeing Global Services, Commercial Marketing based in Seattle, Washington. Prior she spent six years as the Managing Director of Boeing Commercial Airplanes Marketing for Europe and five years as a Director in International Sales; based in London. From 1991-1999, Debra held several management positions - Senior Marketing Manager for Product & Performance Analysis, Manager for Product Marketing, and Manager of Flight Operations Engineering in the Customer Services Division. From 1986-1990, she worked in Engineering at Boeing Commercial Airplane Group. She also served in the United States Navy Reserve from 1985 to 1995 as an Aeronautical Engineering Duty Officer.
To become a member of the Board, significant aviation leadership experience and a demonstrated passion for creating industry gender balance are essential for consideration. Board members must also be a full IAWA member, which requires five years of aviation industry experience in a management or executive level position.
