IAWA Discusses Diversity and the Future of Aviation in Amsterdam at their European Leadership Forum

Amsterdam – 22 June 2023 – International Aviation Womens Association (IAWA), a worldwide organization for women who hold leadership positions across the entire spectrum of the aviation and aerospace industry, held their European Leadership Forum on Friday, 23 June 2023 at the Renaissance Amsterdam Schiphol Airport Hotel in the Netherlands. Over 100 participants from all over Europe and beyond and all parts of the industry attended the event.

This year's Forum theme was Diversity and the Future of Aviation: A European Perspective. It explored what is coming in the world of aviation, not only in relation to diversity, but in the unique domains of airlines and aerospace, business and general aviation, automation, and cyber security.

The Forum sessions included panels with leading industry executives and experts discussing topics such as Female Leadership – Challenges in our Industry, Business and General Aviation: Facing the Challenges, Automation for the Future of the Aerospace Industry, Cyber Security and Defense.

There were also keynote and inspirational speakers including Michiel van Dorst, CEO, LVNL, Oyin Heath, Managing Director, Global Head of Aerospace, WTW and Emma Henderson, CEO at Project Wingman Foundation Ltd.

IAWA President Kathleen Guilfoyle addressed Forum participants stressing the value events like this played in strengthening IAWA's global network and working collectively towards gender parity. IAWA Board member Marita Lintener and Advisory Board members Carol Anderson and Zoe Layden were also present and involved in The Forum.

Special events on 22 June 2023 included a complimentary tour of Forum sponsor LVNL, a boat ride along the Amsterdam canals, and an evening networking & drinks reception at Het West-Indisch Huis with keynote speaker Kerissa Khan MRAeS, President of the Royal Aeronautical Society.
This year's Forum was supported by sponsors LVNL, Clyde & Co, Convex, WTW, and GE Aerospace.
